Assemblyman Phillip Chen Endorses Crystal Miles For State Senate

ORANGE, CA - - Today Crystal Miles, Republican candidate for State Senate District 37, announced the endorsement of Assemblyman Phillip Chen (R-AD55) in her campaign. Assemblyman Phillip Chen is a long-time member of the State Assembly representing portions of the 37th Senate District.

"Crystal Miles shares my values and vision for Orange County and that's why I support her for State Senate. Like me, Crystal Miles is a strong supporter of control at the local level and giving more voice back to the grassroots community especially when it comes to education and the local economy," said Assemblyman Phillip Chen. "I need more individuals like Crystal up in Sacramento fighting for the local community to improve educational opportunities, support tough-on-crime policies to reduce the crime rate and to reduce the negative impact that inflation has had on our hardworking families."

First elected to the State Assembly in 2016, Assemblyman Chen has built a reputation for being an advocate for local schools and a supporter of law enforcement. Chen himself is a former member of the local school board and a former Reserve Sheriffs' Deputy.

Crystal Miles is currently a Villa Park City Councilmember and operates a wholesale distribution business with her husband Kirk. Previously Miles served as a research scientist specializing in biomedical immunology research and development at Johnson & Johnson and Nichols Institute Diagnostics. She was elected to the City Council in 2018 and reelected in 2022, including a term as Mayor in 2021.

The 37th Senate District is expected to be a top legislative target for both parties in 2024. The Orange County district stretches from Fullerton in the north to Laguna Niguel in the south.
